Congratulations to Senior Eli Duvall, recipient of the Wimmer Scholarship, a highly competitive award which covers the cost of full tuition, room and board for eight semesters at St. Vincent College. Well deserved, Eli. We are so proud of you!!

We extend our sincere apologies to the members of our educational community who received a late night phone call last evening about this morning's two-hour delay. The email message as well as the voice recording were both created yesterday afternoon prior to Dr. Gabauer's departure from the office and were set to distribute to everyone at 7:30 PM.
The email came out in a timely fashion, but something on the vendor's end went wrong with the voice message. Dr. Gabauer waited patiently until approximately 7:50 thinking it was a busy evening in the system and there was an unusually long delay. He then contacted the IT Director and learned there was a system error that prohibited it from being sent. An effort was made to resend the message at 7:50 after recognizing the system error and it failed once again to send. A final effort was made with the vendor to cancel all communication as it was well past our time of comfort to communicate with our families unless of an absolute emergency. The system still had calls sent.
We apologize for this system failure that may have awakened or inconvenienced any of our staff, parents, or students. There will be a great effort made today to remedy this issue and to ensure timely and effective use of the Apptegy communication tool with all future correspondence.

Kudos to our Young Engineer graduates and their teacher, Mr. Lee Smith!! And, many thanks to Kennametal Inc for being such a strong industry partner and providing our students such incredible opportunities!!

The Mount Pleasant area school district continues to experience power issues in two elementary schools, as do several Mount Pleasant area residents. Therefore, the district will be closed today, January 10, 2024, and a flexible instructional day will apply.
All students are to log onto either their Google classroom or their Schoology accounts and follow the two hour delay cancellation schedule. For families who are without power, extended timeframes for the completion of assignments will be afforded. Thank you. Stay safe and warm!!

The Jr. High is abuzz today with festive holiday activities, including a Scavenger hunt, a jingle bell toss, Bingo, scooter races, a Christmas ornament toss and other games with friends.
