Junior High students attended the annual Turkey Trot to raise money for the Westmoreland County Food Bank. Students played bingo, flag football, walked the track, and enjoyed Kona Ice treats. It was a great event for a wonderful cause!!

Under the direction of Mr. Svidron and Mrs. Ber, our students are participating in the Sustainability Design Challenge, which entails: 1) identifying a challenge that is relevant to our school or community; 2) employing project-based learning to research the chosen challenge; and 3) designing, then presenting at least one solution at the Design Challenge event in March.






Students in 8th Grade Explore Spanish took part in a cultural lesson on "Día de los Muertos," in which they learned about the history, products, and customs of this Mexican tradition. They then decorated "calavera" cookies to celebrate. The calavera is a common symbol used in Mexico during celebrations for "Día de los Muertos."





Ramsay Elementary 5th grade students recently completed a unit on the Age of Discovery. Students worked in teams to research an explorer, create a riddle, and design a "bottle buddy." Students then tested their knowledge to see how many riddles they could figure out.

Ms. Haddaway presented her French students with a scrabble bulletin board challenge. Those who could earn 250 points by the end of the first quarter would be rewarded with a crepes day. Her students exceeded the challenge, earning 273 points. Great job, students!!


The Ramsay Elementary "Eagle Street Marketplace" is back in business and under new ownership! With the help of some 6th grade mentors, 5th graders received training in each of their business departments.





Our Portals Project students thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the CMU Entertainment Technology Center. They saw some incredible examples of immersive entertainment and got to field test some projects on which CMU graduate students are working.
