๐Ÿ“ธ Training in Action: MPASD Police Department Prepares for Critical Response On Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, the MPASD Police Department participated in an intensive Active Shooter/Assailant Law Enforcement Response training. Conducted by the RHL Groupโ€”a local team of seasoned law enforcement professionalsโ€”this six-hour session was packed with realistic, hands-on scenarios designed to sharpen our officersโ€™ skills in rapid threat assessment, situational awareness, and tactical response. Through search and contact drills, rapid entry, and room-clearing techniques in solo, two-person, and four-person teams, our officers practiced essential procedures to effectively contain and neutralize threats. Officers were also presented with challenging scenarios that required critical decision-making under pressure, strengthening their readiness to respond swiftly and decisively. Thank you to RHL Group for this invaluable training opportunity as we continue our commitment to the safety and security of our community. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘ฎ #MPASDPolice #CommunitySafety #LawEnforcementTraining

๐Ÿ• Fractions in Action! ! ๐Ÿ• In Mrs. Jaworski's classroom, students took on the roles of chefs and guests to learn fractions in a deliciously hands-on way! ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ Each "chef" received an order from their "guest," practicing social skills while taking orders and creating custom pizzas. Using topping portions as fractions, students learned to: 1๏ธโƒฃ Take pizza orders and understand fractions 2๏ธโƒฃ Use social skills in a restaurant setting 3๏ธโƒฃ Build pizzas with precise fraction toppings 4๏ธโƒฃ Reflect on their work by reviewing the orders The pizza boxes were generously donated by Alexander's Pizza and added a real touch to their creations. This was definitely a slice of learning theyโ€™ll never forget! ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŽ‰ Thank you, Alexander's Pizza!! #FractionFun #HandsOnLearning #MathSkills

Bubbles make a great stand in for cell membranes. Theyโ€™re fluid, flexible, and can self-repair. Bubbles and cell membranes are alike because their parts are so similar. Here you can see our AP Biology seniors having the time of their lives exploring these similarities.

Recently, 5th grade students in Mrs. David's and Mrs. Dreistadt's Science classes teamed up with classes from Bellwood, Pennsylvania and Saint Clair Shores, Michigan to participate in an exciting "Ship-A-Chip" challenge. The students were tasked with designing and creating a package that could safely transport a single Pringles potato chip through the mail. After working diligently on their projects, the classes connected via Zoom for a live package opening event. This allowed them to see how their carefully crafted chip containers fared during shipping. The students' hard work and success was then celebrated with a fun Pringles picnic and tasting. Great work, little Vikes!!

๐Ÿšจ Important Message for Mount Pleasant Area Jr/Sr High Students!!๐Ÿšจ This week, we had the privilege of hearing from Bubba Fatula, who addressed our junior and senior high students about the critical Run, Hide, Fight response to active shooter situations. With his investigative experience from incidents like Sandy Hook, Bubba shared insightful accounts that underscored the harsh realities of such events. Our students were a captive, attentive audience, listening intently and asking thoughtful questions. This experience reinforced how crucial it is to have a plan in place. Knowing how to react in emergencies can make all the difference in keeping ourselves and each other safe. Thank you, Bubba, for emphasizing the importance of preparedness! #SafetyFirst #HaveAPlan #RunHideFight #MPAStudents
