MPASD hosted the 16th Annual PA Science Curriculum Council Conference today. The event brought science educators together to share ideas and resources for exemplary learning experiences with high levels of student engagement. PASCC was founded by teachers for teachers. Kudos to Mrs. Mulnix, Mrs. Ovitsky, Mrs. Minerd, and Mr. Snyder for coordinating this worthwhile event. And, thank you to our PDE Science Education Advisor, Dr. David Bauman, for sharing such valuable insight and expertise.

Mrs. Flock’s class went on a field trip to the Making Strides Foundation in Jeannette, PA. Our little Vikings made treats for the horses; took turns feeding the horses; did some horseback riding; and played interactive therapeutic games.   The Making Strides Foundation provides outpatient occupational, physical, and speech therapies with the use of therapeutic horses.  Mrs. Flock’s students absolutely loved their field trip and can’t wait to visit again!

Today our students learned the sophisticated processes of 3D digital scanning and photogrammetry. They are now one step closer to restoring the LE Smith Glass Factory as a virtual reality experience. Many thanks to Case Technologies, the MP Historical Society, and our glass industry experts from LE Smith for making this day so informative and memorable for our students. Stay tuned for future progress!!
