ATTENTION MOUNT PLEASANT AREA COMMUNITY:
Our school district has entered into a partnership with the Mount Pleasant Area Historical Society, Case Technologies and Epic Games on a project called "Portals: A Look Back in Time."
The Portals project will teach students to apply 3D visualization software and gaming technology to recreate a historic structure in our community into a 3D virtual reality experience. The link below will show you an example of what this project looked like in another school district.
We want community involvement in the selection of the building we will use for our first project. We are looking for a structure with rich historical significance as students will be conducting research, interviewing experts and examining artifacts to learn what the structure looked like and how it functioned in its heyday.
To submit your idea for an ideal building for this project, please visit the Historical Society's Overly House (cabin) at the Glass Festival this weekend and drop a ballot in the barrel.
