Family Literacy Night

On February 28, 2019, District families participated in a Title I "Blast Off to Family Literacy Night" held at the J/S High School.  The evening was centered around an outer space theme, filled with reading and writing activities for the entire family.  Some of the highlights of the evening included digging through moon dust in search of matching synonym moon rocks, making a personalized rocket ship craft, creating a fun space race phonics game to play at home, listening to a reading of author, Mark Kelly's book, Mousetronaut, and exploring the stars in the school planetarium.  The children left with a space-themed book and junior astronaut snack pack.
